Liz Tool with Peonies
the Liz Tool is based off a genius tool that Elizabeth Pechacek uses in her studio. The needle point is a little diamond coated bit and works great as a sgraffitto tool, for drawing fine lines into bone dry clay, through slip, through wax resist, and even carve into bisque. then the brush end has slightly stiff bristles to brush off excess burs or dust. no need to blow on the piece and get a bunch of dust in your face.
Way back when I was in graduate school I started making these scoring tools to help make darted tumblers. I’ve made tools periodically since then and I’m excited to branch out fro the scratcher tools and offer them for sale!
